Just before Christmas, E. ( my daughter) was drawing madly with pencil crayons. The family room furniture was moved around papers flying every where and she was walking around with by PC head set talking about menorahs and Hoodies. This warranted me sitting down and watching what was happening. She had made up endless sheets of drawings of clothing, shoes , books, etc- a catalogue! The coffer table was moved over to her home office with pens and calculator and headset was her “call centre”. She even had a name- she was answering “calls” , “Good morning, Worldline Shopping” and taking “orders” Some lucky person got 10 menorahs for a dollar! Also free hoodies being given away. I thought this was pretty sweet and crept upstairs and called some family members and asked then to call in. They asked for Worldine Shopping… she was delighted! The game went on for a few days. Make shift order sheets were drawn up, boxes used for packaging and a large amount of laundry was bundled up for, er… shipping?
She was just having a blast. As a lark I looked up the domain – and sure enough worldlineshopping.com was available! I surprised her by buying the domain and set up the site. I am using Macromedia’s Contribute to publish her site. They have a 30 day trial you can try. It is breeze for her- it basically works like a word processor but more. I recommend to my internet challenged friends. we talked about possibilities for the site. She came up with idea to make artwork and crafts and post on her site. We discussed how much the web hosting cost, how much come of her craft ideas would cost and how much to charge- what her time was worth, etc. Her favourite part hands down is designing logos and buttons. etc. Click here to see the official Worldlineshopping.com logo
