New TLC Show About Homeschool Family- “Six For The Road”

I am really looking forward to seeing this new show on TLC about a family of four who pack it all up and take it on the road. They live in their RV with 4 and 2 dogs(!!) kids and homeschool as they go ( they call it road schooling)
We live in our pop-up trailer for 6 weeks out of the year in Florida and very curious to see how this goes. I will be looking for “RV” tips as well :-)
The show is scheduled to start tomorrow at 10pm Eastern . we all reading have it TIVO’d and ready to go . The show comes on after John and Kate Plus Eight

One year ago we gave away and sold everything we own and bought a fifth wheel and hit the road. We realized that we became caught up in life and became so busy with daily routines that we needed to take back our life. So we did what we have always dreamed of. We decided to leave it all behind and we have never looked back.”

(Hey, wasn’t there a family that did this in the movie RV :-)?
I know a few families who have dome something like this- I am thrilled that a quasi-mainstream, family will make it onto Primetime TV.
The other homeschooling families that come to mind have 16 kids and/or homeschool for exclusionary reasons ( to avoid learning about myths like evolution and Global warming).
I have a pet theory that I am going to test out- I have noticed that all the families that are featured on TLC have a Christian bent. ON Little people, Big World they are always mentioned Christianity and on John and Kate + Eight church and God is also a big part of their lives.
Wonder if this family will be filmed saying Grace and praising God for their bounty?
Do Americans only want to see white Christian families on TV ? Show me the Muslim radical unschooling family and I’ll be impressed :-)
I actually think these kinds of show do help bridge gaps. I think the Roloffs ( Little People, Big World) made being a little person “normal” and made me think about the way I use language. You will not hear Matt Roloff say say “normal” size- he always
using the term “average” and I thought about my own choice of words when describing people and children, I have pretty much dropped the word “normal” from my vocabulary.
One thing I do know- it will bring homeschooling more into the mainstream and I all for that. I am preparing myself for the phone calls in the coming weeks.. My mom will be urged me to take our RV and go on the road for a year.. my dad will “how are these kids going to get into College? My friends will tell me we should have our own TV show, etc :-)

Actually, there are four kids and it’s a family of six. Hence the name. :)

I just saw this show on Discovery. Does anyone know how they aford to travel. I thought that they should homeschooling very well. I liked that they taught their kids hands on. Isnt this teh way we all learn. I did think it was surprising how well the family seemed to get along. i do not think that I could handle my husband and kids let alone 4 kids in that small of a space. Are they going to show more shows in the future?
