Wonderful to Watch Democracy in Action! GO VOTE!
By Lisa - Unschooling Mom
So exciting to see the interest people are taking in the election. I have been watching CNN today and can’t believe the lines!
My daughter who shows little or no interest in politics has been sitting with me and following the last few days and has been a great learning experience- for her and me. Nothing like having to explain something to help you “learn”
It literally gives me goosebumps. I am a bit puzzled as to why people have to wait so long- I am seeing lines that look almost a mile long. Why don’t; they have more voting booths?
Anyway- VERY thrilling. To think we are on the brink of seeing an African American President ( or slim possibility of woman Vice President),
I am little annoyed ( at myself as well) for making such a big deal about it- that is not just what defines Barack Obama. I doubt it would be such a big deal here in Canada but if you look at the context in the Country’s history it is a BIG deal!
Watching the process and seeing people who have never voted before registering, seeing African Americans who marched in the 60’s fighting for their basic rights- and now are voting for a black president!
You can’t help but get caught up in the sense of renewal and energy that seems like is about to explode in America. Feels like HOPE.
