How Many More Days Until Twilight Opens?
By Lisa - Unschooling Mom
Twilight fever is at high pitch this week with Twilight movie coming out in a matter of days. Thanks to DD my laptop has an “Edward” and a Twilight theme. Yikes. Feel like I am 12 again.
I have also gained some credibility with my daughter and her friends when I reminded them that over a year and a half ago I suggested she read the book ( which I wrote about and featured as This Month’s Book- August 2007 “Twilight” by Stephanie Meyer) she has since paid more attention to my recommendations. To their credit, I think 10/11 is bit too young. I think 11/12 depending on the girl is about right age. Three homeschooling girls I know who just turned 11 have found the book boring and dropped it after first chapter and I think they will enjoy reading it and give it another go in a few months.
Much to the shock of my husband while driving the other day my daughter said ” Well, I have to admit Edward IS stunning” in a sigh that only an 11 year old crush could muster.
No doubt he has spent too much time with tween girls this past week as my five year old son not only knows who Edward is but taken to declaring him “hot” ( gulp). This did raise an eyebrow from my very liberal and open minded husband.

Even mom is in on the action. I actually read all four of the books in past 3 weeks. My daughter just finished the first, Other than Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night this is first book we have both read., oops, also Harry Potter series.
Coincidently Edward was Cedric in Goblet of Fire Harry Potter movie.
although I seem to be the only one in the family back the who commented on his “stunning”-ness. ( Pleas gof let this guy be in his 20’s so i can look at myself in the mirror!)
The Twilight movie opens next week, Thursday, Nov. 21. I AM planning on taking her to midnight showing and I really am looking forward to it.
