Whew… well if the completely no rules or boundaries thing wasn’t working for me- the militaristic regime of tidying and cleaning up sure isn’t either!
My daughter is barely speaking to me, I am miserable sleding my days either cleaning . resenting cleaning or nagging others to clean. I can’t belive other people live like this!!
All I can see is I successfully learned what does not work for me :-)
I am going to go back to my unschooling roots and see it as my “job” to give the kids an orderly tidy home and see their’s as having fun, learning and socializing.
ONe thing that I think will help immensely is to get rid of tons os “stuf”” we simply have too much .
One area I have difficulty with is the concept of “gratitude” and entitlement . I this this is a trigger point for both me and my husband. We bear a lot of the responsibility becausee we give them what they want when they want it with little thought to the lessons we are teaching them- like can we afford it? Do we really NEED it , etc.
Anyway.. I am sure my learnign journey will continue!
