I took this picture during a walk back home from a park. My kids played with another group of homeschool kids for the afternoon. While I was sitting on the bench watching the play- a very complicated “pizza parlour” game where younger kids made pizza with different toppings ( using stone gravel) and younger kids were customers I was really struck. I once again was in awe of how easily they plays and were not segregated by age, They have not learned that playing with younger kids is “uncool”.
I see this over in and over again were kids are sent off to school in siblings are not separated all day. There not only seems to be a stronger bond between siblings but they also have more patience for other children as well.
I am not saying that kids who go to school don’t love their brothers/sisters or don’t have a bond. I have observed over the years that children who are home schooled who live and play together are less aware of age when it comes to social interaction.
