I am an ereader junkie. Currently we have a couple of Nexus 7 tablets, older Kobo, older Kindle ( with keyboard) and 2 Original Kindle Paperwhite
It took me a bit to get used to reading from an ereader. If you have note used the screen is very similar to paper- called e-ink. It is not a back lit screen and much easier on the eyes.
The paper white ( like the Kobo Glo) has built in light which I LOVE! the battery is amazing- last weeks and weeks and I use it all the time for camping.
More only issue with anyy of the ereaders is they are not waterproof and because of expense I am reluctant to bring to beach… forgot totally about reading in the bath. This feature a huge minus for me. BUY .. I use an ereader for a reason- my vision is on the decline and I need to be able to change the font. The lit screen also makes for more contrast and easier to read.
Soo.. will I get the new Kindle Paperwhite due to come out on the 30th?
After reading reviews.. likely not. Why not? Not becuase there is anything wring with it- just dont seem to be enought of a difference to warrant the 139.99 CAD.
The screen will be same size. It will be a TEENY bit lighter. I always use a case so this isn’t a factor for me at all.
The load and refresh time for pages is said to be 25% faster. This may be a big jump but I all ready find the creen pretty quick. There can be a small bit of ghosting with the text after 5/6 pages before it “refreshes” but honestly not a big deal.
The page flip feature does seem like something I would really like- but not enough to rush out and buy.
